Go Pack Go!

I couldn't keep a blog about our year without mentioning that our GREEN BAY PACKERS won the SuperBowl this year. This was a very unexpected surprise! This was the first year that the big boys have really gotten into football. They have discovered their pennants and ask us all the time about their teams. They were estatic about the Packers win. After the playoff win over the Bears to make the big game, B innocently asked his Uncle Curt why he was still wearing his Bears hat because they lost. He said, they keep getting 0! The next day I caught them arguing about who got to call their new basketball team the Packers. When they found out they were on the same team, they were very relieved! We watched several youtube videos with Packers Superbowl songs. Last night, we heard one of the songs and C looked at me, and said--they were singing it wrong! It was supposed to say 'Fly like a Cheesehead'! Grandpa wil be so proud!

C and his buddies!

I am really enjoying this stage that C is in right now. He just adores his stuffed animals. He sleeps with almost 10 of them every night...cookie, flopsy, cyclone, teddy, bobby, charlie, turtle, slurpy, piggy, mouse, and many more. And every morning we tuck them all away so they can nap while he's at school. He has started to dress them in our old baby clothes. Aunt Sue even sent some ISU underwear for Flopsy! They eat breakfast with us, they watch our baths, and they do lots of snuggling! He usually tries to sneak a few with him to school. The other morning he asked me to take one with me to work. I dutifully packed up Charlie and perched him on my desk all day long. And then I made a big mistake...I left him there! This was not good around bedtime. C screamed HYSTERICALLY when he discovered my boo boo. Talk about breaking my heart. I promised him that Charlie was having lots of fun with the microscopes and he would bring him a very special prize when he came  home the next day. Finally, he relaxed and we could all sleep. Charlie made good on his promise and a sheet of stickers saved the day! Phew!!

We HEART heart day!

I am so blessed to have so many Valentines. This has been a very heart filled weekend. On Saturday night, my Valentines and I went out for an amazing pizza at Old Chicago. We also enjoyed the best beer I have ever had, Chocolate Ale by Bouelevard. Matt and I love to try new beers and we search all over KC for this highly popular chocolate dream. We finally found it very close to home and we rushed out at 3:45pm to grab some for an early dinner. The boys enjoyed their own chocolate fun..chocolate milk followed by a chocolate filled feast at Cold Stone. It was a great night. Today after church, Matt and the boys went to HyVee to get me some more treats. They hand picked my treats, but I am a little suspicious about their choices...my flowers were in a vase filled with Hershey's Kisses. I also received a balloon which both B and C sweetly asked if they could play with it (earlier today I told them we had to throw away their Red Robin balloons because they had gotten old). I also got an adorable Teddy Bear named Theo. C asked me very innocently, Mommy if I be very nice, can I share Theo with you. Well, guess where Theo is hanging right now? In C's bed with his stuffed animal collection!:) We ended the day with a V day bookmark craft, chocolate covered strawberries for dessert and lots and lots of hugs and kisses. What more could a girl ask for? And it isn't even the big day yet. Tomorrow the boys will take their Valentines to school. B made homemade playdough and his note says 'Dough you want to be mine'. C has snickers attached to a note that says 'You make me snicker'. And A has goldfish attached to a note that says 'I am hooked on you'. I love them all--we also made chocolate covered oreo suckers for a snack.

Coffee Break!

It is FREEZING in Kansas today and the boys and I haven't been out since Monday afternoon. We took a much needed coffee break to STARBUCKS! Yummy!

It's a SNOWNAMI!

Daddy took the big boys outside today to finally play in the snow. They made a fort and a slide! Brings back lots of IOWA memories!

Snowmaggedon!

The weather guys say this is one of the worst storms KC has ever seen. It doesn't seem so bad to me. Of course, I haven't left the house since Monday afternoon! I have been playing Operation, making crafts, creating Valentine's, watching movies, and doing lots of cuddling. I had to laugh b/c I am always trying to snap pics of A. He hates it and usually runs away. Today he threw a fit b/c I wasn't taking his picture. Go figure. Here are some pics of our fun!

Heart Day!

It's almost time for Valentine's Day! The boys are busy getting their Valentine's prepared for their friends. A just received the cutest little t-shirt in the mail. He is modeling it today. Later we are going to take advantage of our snow day to make chocolate covered oreo suckers. Yummy!
